Unofficial Weigh-In

Okay I know I should only weigh-in once a week and I really need to just put the scale away for a while but it is such an obsession. So this morning I weighed in at 223, which puts me back down to my lowest number to date. 65.5 pounds lost. I am still in the 220s.

Sometimes I wonder if this is just as good as it is gonna get. Deep down I think there is much more to lose. My best bud was telling me that the last 20 pounds are the hardest and that is why so many of us are carrying around an extra 20 pounds. However, I am not down to my last 20 yet. I have like 50 more I would like to get rid of. I plan to just keep trying to stick to it and hopefully I will break through this plateau.

My attitude is actually better (believe it or not). Once I am out for the summer I am going to add an hour of cardio - like kick boxing classes from the lady gym. Also, by then the pool should be warm enough for real swimming. I am thinking this will have to help me through.

Have you hit any plateaus? What have you done to over come it or break through it?

I can't comment on the plateau thing really, as I haven't got to one (this time) yet. It is usually where things go awry for me, so I am nervous about it.

Things I am going to try if it happens to me is roughly what you plan and that is (1) some more and different exercise.

(2) A switch in diet may help a bit too - changing meals around a bit (just to fox the body). i.e. up protein, or have protein at a different meal, have a larger meal at a different time of day, a week of higher (but healthy) calories, introduce new foods/ cut out some others, etc.

(3) And I will log a bit more faithfully, just so I can see exactly where I am going wrong.

(4) Wait it out - keep on doing what we are doing and wait for the plateau period to end.

Keep up the good work, you have been doing so well and soon the results will be the way you want them to be!

1st Congrats on your progress so far.U should be really proud of yourself. i think you have the right idea with adding in more cardio. Do you do any weight training? I am just started my weight loss journey (again), but i know that its important to switch things up. good luck. You can do it!
