...I thank the lord there's people out there like you.
HOLLA!!! Over 100 followers. You all rock! I have to tell you that I would not have come this far without this community. It is my therapy (only cheaper, so thanks). Like group therapy, kinda like I am in rehab learning how to create a new life. It works, if you work it.
Your comments have been awesome. They make me laugh, they make me feel better, they let me know that I am so not alone. I also really enjoy your blogs. I try to comment as much as possible but please know, sometimes I am reading them even if I do not have time to leave a comment. Your thoughts and feelings matter. I care about what you have to say. And I am not the only one so please keep it going!
Questions for you. Have you tried P90X? I hear nothing but awesome things about it and how ripped people get (and how super hard it is). I am a little confused as to how it works but I was thinking about getting it this weekend. Also, I want one of those calorie burning heart monitor watch things (technical terms, I know). Which one should I buy? I want a good one. Not that you all want a crappy one, I just don't want to get one and have to replace it.
So again, THANK YOU for all you have done to help me. I will do my best to return the favor. Let me know if you have any questions. I would love to answer some. Off to watch Biggest Loser!

Congratulations on dinging 100!
Unfortunately I'm a little useless with fitness technology, I too have no idea what the technical term is for such a watch (let alone being able to recommend one) and I am googling P90X as we speak to find out what it is >_<
All the same, congratulations on the followers, I haven't been following long however I've enjoyed what I've read so far, it's clear you deserve the crowd!
If you get the P90X please let us know what you think!!
Congrats on 100 followers :)
I have not heard of a P90X either. Sounds interesting...
100 followers of awesomeness! P90X is supposed to be super hardcore and varied (heavier weights for strength, plyometric jumping for cardio, intense yoga poses, etc) and is meant to CHANGE your body fast. you may be at the point where you want to take it on. i can tell you that i had and used original Power90 system in 2001, when I was about 70 lbs less than I am now and that was awesome. it's only 2 DVDs- one cardio with levels 1-3 and a strength with levels 1-3. you do 6 days a week, alternating days of strength and cardio and have one day off. each workout is btwn 30-45 minutes. there is also a bonus abs one, but anyway i really liked it and will probably buy one off of ebay after the first of the year to ramp up my pre-wedding routine. but anyway, yeah they created P90x as kind of the 'next level' of the original P90 and that was really good.
I have P90X and I did a few weeks of it before I decided to stop. I might pick it up again after the holidays. It was decent but not necessarily a miracle worker. It can produce amazing results, but that's not guaranteed.
It is pretty difficult. But if you have a high fitness level it's not terrible. It consists of 12 DVDs: chest and back, plyometrics, arms and shoulders, yoga, legs and back, kenpo, stretch, chest tris and shoulders, core synergistics, ab ripper, and cardio.
It is supposed to use muscle confusion but, honestly, after the first phase the only extras workout you do are core synergistics, chest tries and shoulders, and back and biceps. The other DVD workouts you do throughout the entire 12 weeks, you just might do them in different orders.
You do seven different workouts a week with one day of rest or the stretch. The work outs are pretty intense and it comes with an eating plan. You only work each muscle group twice a week but if you work them really hard it's enough to make a difference. I thought the leg routine wasn't very great but that's because I'm a woman. The plyometrics kicked my butt.
However it's really time consuming. It takes about an hour to and hour and a half everyday. Which isn't bad but if you want to do other fitness activities, like running and such, it can make it difficult to do both.
I didn't like how it only worked each muscle group twice a week. But that's just me. It's also more focused on strength and building muscle instead of cardio.
As far as heart rate monitors go I've heard good things about the Polar series. Polar 4 and Polar 6 are supposed to be the best.
Good luck!
congrats on 100 followers! I've heard great things about the dvds. I know quite a few people that have them, and apparently it kicks your a**!
I love the infomercial lol.
I watch it all the time and plot. It's a lot of money and quite frankly, I think it's for the person who is already thin and wants to get 'ripped'. that's a 145 lb range for me. I've got a ways to go, but if you get it...let us know, I am actually very interested in that program.
Congratulations on 100 followers, people cheering you on helps tons.
I am in major catch-up mode here, so I am commenting on several of your previous posts and this one of course, lol!
You look amazing in the wedding picture and I am glad you got such a great reaction, hee-hee.
And I too am so grateful to the blogging community as it has made such a huge difference to me too.
And - bellyflopping - LOL - great to know it goes eventually!
I have absolutly no idea what p90x is lol. so i am not much use. lol
alllll my IRL friends swear by it.
thus far I hath not succumbed :)
I have P90X. I love it, but that being said..I do feel it's more geared towrd men. TONS of pull ups and push ups. I love the plyo dvd, the cardioX and Tony is VERY motivational to me. He gets on some peoples nerves. Buy it only on ebay to save money. It is WAY too expensive on beachbody. You will prob want to use some DVDs and not others. I go to a gym though, so do weight lifting there and use mostly the other dvds at home. hope this helps.
100 followers?!? Are you trying to make me jealous...
I am currently trying to get to 50. Maybe you could follow me? I would really appreciate it!
As for P90X, I have friends who tried it and "enjoyed it," although they did say it was very tough... and not cheap.
Good luck! And keep up the good work!!!
Yay for 100 followers! Hopefully I'll be there soon too...around 90 or so right now I think!
As for the heart rate monitors, I have a Polar F11 (you can get it on Amazon for $145; it's usually $180 I think) and have had no problems with it. I've had it a year and half or so now. It's super easy to use too!
Make it 103 followers :) Glad I found your site, love the wedding story (yahoo for motivation) and you looked great in you black dress.
Looking forward to sharing your journey!
Right back atcha, woman! Blogging is essential to my resolve in this journey. I truly believe it is the missing link from all the other times I tried to lose weight.
I got nothing for you on the P90X and heart rate monitor...

I know what you mean about community! I just started a blog about my weight loss journey, and although it only has four followers so far, I feel SO MUCH better having those four people "there." They seem to understand what I'm going through and to really care about whether I make it. Also, the blog is a place where I can be totally honest about my struggle with overeating. Anyway, I love your blog.. very open, positive, and helpful. Thank you!
This magnificent phrase is necessary just by the way
The information here is great. I will invite my friends here.
Thanks
